University sets up the first e-library repository in the region on amazon web services
On Friday, February 16, the University reached another historic milestone by becoming the first institution of higher learning in Kenya and East Africa to host the D-Space institutional repository system on Amazon Web Services (AWS), in collaboration with Silicon Overdrive.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dionysious Kihika Kiambi, launched the new institutional repository at a ceremony hosted by the Library team, led by the University Librarian, Ms. Josleen Rutere. It was attended by staff, students, and representatives from the two partners (AWS and Silicon Overdrive).
The new institutional repository, Ghala, will store and preserve the University’s research outputs, including publications, conference proceedings, research data, book chapters, monographs, theses, and dissertations, among others.
