Student peer counsellors get equipped with counselling skills
On Friday, March 10, the University’s Counselling Office collaborated with some faculty members from Psychology Department to train Student Peer Counsellors in a variety of areas, including Mental Health, Basic Counselling Skills, Ethical Issues in Counselling, Time and Stress Management, Self-Awareness, Conflict Management, and Communication Skills, among others. The goal was to provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to counsel their peers effectively.
Further training will be provided to the students early next Trimester to enhance their skills and ensure they remain effective.
