NACOSTI accredits the University’s ISERC
After a rigorous process that included a site visit, training, and mentorship of the University’s Institutional Scientific and Ethics Review Committee (ISERC) members, the National Commission for Science, Technology, and Innovation (NACOSTI) approved the Committee to function as a centre for the review of Social Science research protocols.
Through this delegated mandate that operates under the NACOSTI guidelines, University researchers in any of the Social Science fields can present their proposals and protocols for ethics review as per the guidelines, which will be posted on the soon-to-be-unveiled ISERC’s domain, set to be hosted on the University Research website.
This new development will greatly enhance our research practice, particularly because NACOSTI only issues research permits to researchers after they undergo the ethics review process.
Prospective researchers are advised to study ISERC’s standard operational manual to enable them to adhere to set timelines.
