Prof. Diphus Chosefu Chemorion is an Associate Professor of Old Testament Studies. He earned his PhD from Stellenbosch University, a Master of Theology from Emory University in the USA, a Bachelor of Divinity from St. Paul’s University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Certificate in Biblical Hebrew from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, and a Certificate in Strategic Leadership from the University of Illinois, USA.
He is an Old Testament Translations Consultant and a member of several professional bodies and research consortiums, including Equipping Christian Leadership in an Age of Science (ECLAS), the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS), the Africa Society of Evangelical Theology (ASET), the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and the Association for Faculty Enrichment in Learning and Teaching (AFELT).
He has taught at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and successfully supervised over 50 dissertations and theses. He has also published widely in refereed journals and authored several books.
Prof. Chemorion has more than 25 years of experience in academia. He has served in various university administrative capacities, including Head of Department, Director of Postgraduate Studies, Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Principal of East African Christian College in Rwanda, and, most recently, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Prof. Chemorion is an ordained minister of the Reformed Church of East Africa, where he currently serves as the Synod Professor of Theology and Moderator of Nairobi Presbytery.
He is married to Rev. Dr. Edith Chemorion of Moi University, and they are blessed with four adult children.
