Prof. Margaret Jepkirui Muthwii
Prof. Margaret Jepkirui Muthwii, a Professor of Languages and Linguistics, is the current Vice-Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University, a position she’s held since 2014.
Presently, she is also a board member at the following National/Regional and/or International institutions: the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) where she chairs its Audit Committee; the Inter-Universities Council of East Africa (IUCEA) where she chairs the Planning, Finance & Human Resource (PFHR) Committee; and at the Kenya Association of Private Universities (KAPU) where she is the Secretary to the Executive Committee. She sits in two International Boards: SIL LEAD based in Washington DC, and The Word For The World (TWFTW) based in Colorado Springs, USA.
Over the years, Prof. Muthwii has offered her skills, talents, and time to many other organizations and institutions. She served at the United Bible Societies (UBS) in various capacities such as a scholar and translation consultant; led the Africa Area Translation work as both Coordinator and Organization Manager in charge of an international team of translation consultants; and also part of the UBS Senior Management Team- Africa area. She has also been a member of the Governing Councils of PAC University and the Africa International University (AIU). At AIU, she also served as the Chair of the Academic Committee of Council, and as the Deputy Chair of the Governing Council.
Prof. Muthwii was a key member of the National Strategy for University Education Task Force which developed and produced for the first time ever a national strategy for university education in Kenya. She has also been a member of Boards of Governors/Management in several secondary schools in Kenya.
A career educator, Prof. Muthwii has been a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Deputy Registrar (Academic Affairs) at Kenyatta University. She is widely published, especially in the areas of Language and Translation. Read her detailed profile here
