Prof. Wafula is the current Chair of the Board of Trustees of PAC University. He is a consultant Paediatrician and until the end of July 2020, he was Professor of Paediatrics in the Department of Paediatrics, University of Nairobi. He is also chairman of the National Polio Expert Committee, one of the two committees in the Ministry of Health playing a crucial role in the eradication of poliomyelitis in the country. Prof. Wafula is also chairman of the Ministry of Health’s Vaccine Associated Adverse Events Committee, and is a member of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 vaccination.

Prof. Wafula previously served as the Chairman of the Department of Paediatrics of the University of Nairobi. He holds an MB.ChB and M.Med in Paediatrics from the University of Nairobi and a Fellowship of Clinical Epidemiology for the University of Pennsylvania, USA.

He is married to Lois Mwihaki, and they are blessed with four grown-up children.
