The Master of Arts in Chaplaincy seeks to produce well-grounded persons working with the communities to connect with its members and champion appropriate spiritual care. To achieve this, the program aims at helping the learners to acquire skills in research, critical thinking, advocacy, planning and formulation of care policies, practical leadership and innovation skills in the context of contemporary African realities in spiritual care and community safeguarding. The program seeks to equip learners with knowledge skills and competencies that will enable them to be effective in providing spiritual care that is relevant towards the thriving of society and the wellbeing of their communities. The program best suited for persons desiring holistic training and professional preparedness to serve in Educational institutions, Hospital departments, Uniformed Services, Correctional facilities and Corporate placements.

Admission requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in Theology, Divinity, Religious Studies or any area of specialization from an accredited University with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.70 on a 4.00 scale, or a degree awarded with first class or upper second class honors, or its equivalent.
- Applicants with 2.50 cumulative grade point average or second-class lower division or its equivalent should have at least two years of relevant experience after graduation.
- An applicant who does not meet the above requirements must present an undergraduate degree in any area of specialization and a Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant area of study from an accredited institution of higher learning with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, or its equivalent.
- Applicants whose medium of instruction at their undergraduate level of schooling was not English are required to provide evidence of adequate mastery of written and spoken English.
