Prof. Ezekiel Wafula is a consultant Paediatrician and until the end of July 2020, he was a Professor of Paediatrics in the Department of Paediatrics, University of Nairobi. He is the immediate former Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees.

Prof. Wafula is chairman of the National Polio Expert Committee, one of the two committees in the Ministry of Health playing a crucial role in the eradication of poliomyelitis in the country. He is also chairman of the Ministry of Health’s Vaccine Associated Adverse Events Committee and is a member of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 vaccination.

Prof. Wafula previously served as the Chairman of the Department of Paediatrics of the University of Nairobi. He holds an MB.ChB and M.Med in Paediatrics from the University of Nairobi and a Fellowship in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania, USA.

He is married to Lois Mwihaki, and they are blessed with four grown-up children.
