VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS
We are seeking to fill the positions outlined below with suitable candidates. Applicants must be born-again Christians and active members of a local Church.

Position Title: Senior Lecturer
1. Community Development
2. Biblical and Theological Studies
3. Computing and IT

Minimum Requirements:

  • An earned PhD qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university
  • Be registered with the relevant professional body
  • At least three (3) years of teaching experience at a university level as a lecturer or six (6) years of research/industry experience
  • A minimum of 32 publication points as a lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals
  • Supervised a minimum of three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a lecturer or equivalent
  • Registered with the relevant professional body

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake teaching, design appropriate learning materials, and deliver course modules while adhering to the teaching requirements as per the curriculum
  • Administration of Continuous Assessment Tests
  • Examination setting, administration, and marking

Position Title: Lecturer

Minimum Requirements:

  • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university;
  • Be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable)
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university (in special cases) with at least three (3) years of teaching experience at a university level or in research or industry
  • A minimum of 24 publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers
  • Registered with a relevant professional body

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake teaching, design appropriate learning materials and deliver course modules while adhering to the teaching requirements as per the curriculum
  • Administration of Continuous Assessments Tests
  • Examination setting, administration and marking

Position Title: Executive Personal Assistant

Job Purpose: To provide administrative support to the Vice Chancellor

Minimum Requirements:

  • An earned Master’s Degree in Administration, Public Relations, or any other related field
  • At least 5 years of professional experience providing high-level administrative support in a similar position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Advanced organizational skills and capacity to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to effectively work on a team in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff, partners, and clients

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the Vice Chancellor in his daily administrative duties
  • To provide administrative services including diary management, booking meetings, planning events, organizing travel and preparing travel itineraries
  • To manage the e-mail boxes and communication on behalf of the Vice Chancellor
  • To prepare and synchronize institutional calendar of activities and events
  • To work with the Vice Chancellor, Management Board and Senate to arrange meetings
  • To support the management of executive meetings and take minutes as necessary
  • To keep track of actions and follow up on Matters Arising from meetings
  • To provide administrative support in the delivery of assignments and initiatives on behalf of the Vice Chancellor’s office as and when required
  • Manage visitors to the Vice Chancellor’s Office, including handling protocol matters
  • To prepare presentations and reports as may be necessary
  • To develop and maintain a proper record-keeping system for easy retrieval

Position Title: Assistant Librarian

Job Purpose: To provide library administrative and technical support as well as security of library resources

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or related field
  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience at the university level

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise the operations of the library circulation and technical services staff
  • Responsible for all cataloguing functions in the library
  • Maintain statistics and prepare reports related to cataloguing and processing of materials
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of bibliographic and authority records on the online catalogue
  • Collaborate with other library staff members in developing online learning tools to promote information literacy skills

Position Title: Student Recruitment Officer

Job Purpose: To establish and administer projects for targeting, recruitment, and retention of students in the University’s programmes

Minimum Requirements:

  • KCSE C+; Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field from a recognized institution
  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in sales/marketing/PR/student recruitment or career guidance
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and administrative skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work with multiple digital technologies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotion and outreach for university activities that include but are not limited to presenting in schools, organizations and attending fairs
  • Plan, prepare, coordinate, and manage recruitment programs and student events
  • Work with data management systems and use data to inform and prioritize actions
  • Lead out on specific initiatives and work as part of a team to deliver the wider objectives of the student recruitment function
  • Collaborate with colleagues in faculties, PR, and marketing
  • Identify opportunities for promoting the University to prospective audiences and operationalize those innovative ideas and opportunities

Position Title: University Driver

Job Purpose: To drive University vehicles and deliver or pick up staff, students, or goods within or without the University premises

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of D+ (Plus) or equivalent or a higher qualification from a recognized institution
  • A valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for class(es) of vehicle (s) an officer is required to drive (Category A, B, C, and D)
  • Public Service Vehicle (PSV) certificate
  • A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police
  • Attended a First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from a recognized institution
  • Demonstrated merit and ability in driving and maintenance of vehicles
  • People with a second line of skill sets (plumber, painter, carpenter, etc.) beyond driving vehicles are encouraged to apply

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Driving a motor vehicle as authorized
  • Security of the vehicle on and off the road
  • Safety of passengers and /or goods therein
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the assigned vehicles and carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure
  • Carrying out minor repairs including oiling and greasing
  • Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems
  • Maintenance of work tickets for vehicle assigned
  • Ensuring the vehicle has the necessary documentation
  • Ensuring the vehicle has relevant repair tools and is serviced on time
