About the project

PAC University won the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) regional tender to train universities in the six East Africa Community (EAC) member States on Digital Skills in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary objective of this training is to enable the universities to successfully mainstream e-learning into their teaching and learning modes.

The tender was commissioned by GIZ based on the COVID-19 measures and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) under the project Digital Skills for an Innovative East African Industry (dSkills@EA), which is about strengthening advanced digital skills and innovation capacities in the EAC. The implementing partner of the project is the East African Community Secretariat, through the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), and the Centre of Excellence for ICT in East Africa (CENIT@EA).

PAC University will provide training in digital skills, development of appropriate online courses, online assessment and examination, and use of open-source learning management systems, among other areas.
