Certificate in Professional Mediation

Certificate in Professional Mediation

This program was established in order to help professionals in the areas that involve disputes and conflicts resolutions gain deeper, practical skills to better engage those seeking out-of-court-settlements. The program is further inspired by Kenya’s Judiciary which started the process of rolling out the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program as enshrined in the constitution (Article 159). The ADR program implies that a lot of cases will be referred for mediation. PAC University has proved its capacity to train effective professionals in areas of human intervention. Therefore, the Mediation training will build on that experience.

Goal of the Program

The goal of the program is to develop and enhance competencies in:

  1. Understanding conflicts and conflict management
  2. Applying alternative dispute resolutions as a means of peacefully resolving disputes.
  3. Evaluating disputes and disputants to select the most appropriate method of resolving family disputes.
  4. Exploring various skills and techniques in Family Mediation
