VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

PAC Institute of Technology and Social Studies, a constituent college of PAC University formally registered as a Technical and Vocational College is seeking to fill the position outlined below from suitable candidates. Applicants must be born-again Christians and active members of a local Church.

Position Title: TVET Trainers (5)

1. Motor Vehicle Mechanic Trainer.
2. Electrical Engineering Trainer.
3. Food and Beverage Production & Service Trainer.
4. Plumbing Trainer.
5. Catering and Accommodation Trainer.

Job Purpose

To provide competence-based training in diploma [level 6] and certificate [level 5] designed to develop relevant and highly marketable graduates in today’s competitive job market.

Minimum Requirements

1. MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANIC TRAINER

      • Earned Diploma [KNQF level 6] certificate in Automotive Engineering;
      • Technician or its equivalent;
      •  Two (2) Years’ experience in similar position;
      • Licensed by TVETA
      • Registered by Engineer Board of Kenya (E.B.K) or Kenya Engineering Technology
        Registration Board (KETRB);
      • Strong analytical and communication skills;
      • Patient, supportive, and passionate about learning;
      • In depth knowledge of the tertiary training structure and CBET;
      • Exposure to TVET CDACC;

 

2. ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TRAINER

      • Earned Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or in related trade area;
      • Two (2) Years’ Experience in similar field
      • Licensed by TVETA
      • Licensed by EBK/KETRB will be an added advantage.
      • Relevant training experience
      • Strong analytical and communication skills
      • Patient, supportive, and passionate about learning
      • In depth knowledge of the tertiary training structure and CBET
      • Exposure to TVET CDACC.

3. FOOD AND BEVERAGE TRAINER

      • Earned Bachelor of science in Hospitality Management or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality Management or its equivalent;
      • Two (2) Years’ experience in similar position;
      • Licensed by TVETA Training Certification;
      • Strong analytical and communication skills;
      • Patient, supportive, and passionate about learning;
      • Exposure to TVET CDACC;

 

4. PLUMBING TRAINER

      • Earned Diploma [KNQA Level 6] in Water engineering or in related trade area;
      • Two (2) Years’ experience in similar position;
      • Relevant teaching and training experience;
      • Licensed by TVETA
      • Strong analytical and communication skills
      • Patient, supportive, and passionate about learning
      • In depth knowledge of the tertiary training structure and CBET
      • Exposure to TVET CDACC.

 

5. CATERING AND ACCOMODATION TRAINER

      • Earned Bachelor of science in Catering and Accommodation Management or Higher National Diploma in Catering and Accommodation Management or its equivalent;
      • Two (2) Years’ experience in similar position;
      • Relevant training experience;
      •  Licensed by TVETA;
      • Strong analytical and communication skills;
      • Patient, supportive, and passionate about learning;
      • Exposure to TVET CDACC;
Key Responsibilities
    • Instruct trainees in the specific course(s)/units in adherence to the respective curriculum and
      occupational standards;
    • Plan, conduct and assess practicals in the course units assigned;
    • Prepare internal assessments, mark, grade, conduct validation and moderation;
    • Supervise and assess trainee(s) in the course area and during industrial attachment;
    • Maintaining appropriate records required by TVETA and TVET CDACC or any other
      relevant body including learning, session plans, training notes and records of work;
    • Any other duty as may be assigned by the Coordinator or Director;

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Pan Africa Christian University, a Chartered Private University, is seeking to fill the position outlined below from suitable candidates. Applicants must be born-again Christians and active members of a local Church.

Position Title: Director, Open, Distance & e-Learning (ODeL)  

The Director, Open, Distance & e-Learning (ODeL), will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of open, distance and e-learning programs at the university. The role will drive the integration of technology-enhanced learning, develop and implement capacity development programs and ensure quality assurance in ODeL initiatives in line with national and international standards. The position reports to the DVC Academic Affairs.

Minimum Requirements
      • A PhD in Education Technology, Distance Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
      • At least seven (7) years of experience in higher education, with at least three (3) years in a senior leadership role in ODeL or e-learning.
        Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing e-learning programs in a university setting.
        Strong knowledge of LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) and other digital learning tools.
      • Experience in curriculum design, pedagogy, instructional technology and faculty training for online learning.
      • Understanding of Kenyan and global regulations governing online and distance education.
      • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and managing e-learning programs in a university setting.
      • Proven ability to secure funding through grants, partnerships, and other external sources.
      • Ability to foster innovation in teaching and learning.
      • Knowledge of emerging global trends in digital education. Strong strategic leadership and organizational skills.
      • Effective team leadership and capacity building skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities
    • Provide strategic leadership and oversight in the operations of the ODeL Centre.
    • Analyze and customize emerging global trends and best practices in online, blended, and distance education into the operations of the ODeL Centre.
    • Develop, review and implement the University’s ODeL policies, strategies and frameworks.
    • Lead the development and review of ODeL curricula in collaboration with academic departments.
    • Establish quality assurance mechanisms to ensure adherence to accreditation standards by the Commission for University Education (CUE) and other regulatory bodies.
    • Develop and organize training programs for faculty, staff and students on cutting edge e-learning methodologies and digital literacy.
    • Promote the integration of ICT tools and emerging technologies in teaching and learning.
    • Conduct and promote research and innovation in e-learning pedagogies and instructional design.
    • Establish and strengthen partnerships with government agencies, industry stakeholders and international organizations to advance ODeL initiatives.
    • Lead resource mobilization efforts, including grant writing and fundraising, to enhance digital learning programs.
    • Collaborate with the Distance Education team to improve the quality of on-line education at the University and offer a complete and functional set of online student services.
    • Prepare the budget and work plans for the ODeL Centre.
