Prof. Martin C. Njoroge

Prof. Njoroge is the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic Affair,s and also serves as a supervisor in the Masters Programme in the Department of Leadership. He holds a PhD, MA and BEd. Degree in English Language and Linguistics from Kenyatta University, Kenya. Currently, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Pan Africa Christian University Journal of Arts & Social Sciences, and is also an external examiner at Makerere University, Uganda; Garissa University, Kenya; University of Free State in Bloemfontein, SA and Mount Kenya University Kenya.

He is a former International Institute of Education Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE-SRF) postdoctoral fellow and visiting Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, USA. Further, he is an appointed peer reviewer for the ratings of researchers, professors and scholars in South Africa, under the National Research Foundation.

Prof. Njoroge is co-editor of Multilingualism and Education in Africa: The State of the State of the Art (with D. Orwenjo, P.W. Mwangi and R. W. Ndung’u) in 2014 and has published both university and secondary school levels books with Oxford University Press (Spot on Writing Skills, 2012; Test it Fix it, 2013; Spot on Oral Skills (2014). He has conducted extensive research on many issues of multilingual education, multicultural literacies, and various other areas of English language and linguistics.

His chapters have appeared in over 10 books while his articles have appeared in numerous refereed and reputable journals such as Multilingual Education Journal, African Journal of Educational Linguistics, International Journal of Current Research, PAC University Journal of Arts and Social Sciences, and Confucius Institute Journal, among others. He has been invited as keynote speaker at academic conferences, nationally and internationally.

Prof. Njoroge serves as a peer reviewer for the Commission for University Education (CUE) in Kenya to ensure that Universities adhere to excellence in their core mandate of teaching, research and community engagement. He enjoys reading, motivating and mentoring young people, writing as well as participating in community engagements. 

He is married with three children.
