Bachelor of Arts in Counselling Psychology
Introduction
Bachelor of Arts In Counselling is intended for students who desire to serve the community by providing counselling services to individuals, couples, family relations and counselling ministries, as well as small group facilitation and mediation skills.
Course Objective
The course is intense, practical and covers a wide range of issues relevant to people such as marital problems, drug abuse, trauma counselling, grieve and loss, teenage crisis among others. This means that after completion students are prepared to offer counselling services in various situations.
Program Information
In order for the trainee to gain an appreciation for the counselling process, the course provides an opportunity for the trainee to develop greater self-awareness, growth in personal relationships and psychotherapeutic skills through experiential learning and counselling practicum.
Entry Requirements
Minimum of KCSE Grade C+ (plus) or its equivalent or C plain with Pre-University Certificate or Relevant Diploma from a recognized institution or mature age entry.
