Dr. Truphena Oduol

Dr. Truphena Oduol is the current head of leadership department where she also lectures. 

Truphena holds a PhD from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, a Master’s Degree from Flinders University, Australia, a Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University. 

She has an extensive background in Leadership and Education, with a speciality in ethical leadership, value based leadership, governance ethics and integrity, and professionalism in the workplace, evidence based policy making, strategic leadership, and qualitative research. 

Prior to joining the Pan Africa University, Kenya, she served as a teacher and government official in the Education department overseeing the conduct and practice of education in Kenya. She has published in the International Education Journal (IEJ) –  and presented several papers in various international forums.

Truphena has contributed immensely to the development of current education policy in Kenya as a member of Task forces and committees and while working closely with development partners -World Bank, UNICEF, World Vision among others. 

Truphena is a member of Women Education Researchers of Kenya (WERK).

Her research interests are in the area of leadership specifically in ethics and leadership, professionalism, leadership, evidence policy making, change and leadership.
