Moffat M. Kago

Moffat is an accredited Mental Health Counselor, and a part time lecturer in the Psychology Department at Pan Africa Christian University. He holds a MA Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (PAC University) and BA Degree in Counseling Psychology, (PAC University). Moffat has also done short Family Therapy courses in Trinity Western University of British Colombia, Canada.

With over five years experience in active counseling practice, Moffat draws his wealth of experience from working with clients dealing with a variety of issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship/family concerns, as well as issues related to attachment between parents and their children. He is a resource to consider when it comes to cross-cultural and multi-cultural counseling.

Moffat is a registered member of the Kenya Counseling & Psychological Association, and has offered trauma counseling services to victims of terrorist attacks in West Gate, Garissa University College, and the Kenya Defense Forces attack in El Ade, Somalia. He is also a registered member of the Kenya Red Cross and thus very passionate about offering psychological help to alleviate human sufferings.

Moffat is known for his warm, relaxed, and comfortable approach to counseling. He is an Integrative Psychotherapist, which means that he utilizes a variety of orientations and therapies, according to the client's individual needs. His approach involves genuine caring, acceptance, and non-judgment, and he believes that his clients would describe him as a good listener, a good teacher, and a very easy person to talk to.

In order to sharpen his professional skills, Moffat has done a number of career development courses within and beyond the borders of Kenya. Some of these courses include: Emotionally Focused Therapy, Trauma and Expressive Therapies, Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Clinical Supervision among others.
