Dr. Percy Opio

Dr. Opio is a practitioner scholar, ICT professional, strategic leadership and foresights expert, and author of The Future of Banking in Kenya.

He holds a Management Information Systems Diploma from the Institute of Management Information Systems (UK), a Bachelor of Education (Arts) Degree from Moi University, Kenya, a Master of Arts in Leadership Degree from PAC University, Kenya, and a Doctor of Strategic Leadership (Strategic Foresights concentrate) Degree from Regent University, Virginia Beach, USA.

Dr. Opio has over 10 years’ experience in the banking industry at management and executive management levels where he spearheaded the initiation and implementation of an ICT Service Delivery strategy, and the roll-out of innovative technical and digital solutions designed to lower costs and improve efficiency and effectiveness.

He worked in the I.T service industry for over 8 years from 1997 to 2005, where he provided information technology solutions and services to organizations ranging from start-ups to large corporates. Besides having experience in teaching at secondary school level, Dr. Opio teaches Strategic Leadership, Governance and Ethics, Results-based Leadership, Leading Innovation and Change and Global Leadership at the Masters and PhD Degree levels respectively at PAC University.

Dr. Opio is also a consultant in organizational strategy, strategic leadership and has held seminars on Leadership Development and Futures Strategy for some organizations. 

He has great interests in strategic leadership, leadership values and ethics, and futures study. He is an associate member of the Association of Professional Futurists and a member of the Institute of Economic Affairs (Kenya Chapter). Dr. Opio is a member of All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, where he has served as a Theological Education by Extension (TEE) bible study teacher for a few years, and has been serving in the Marriage Outreach Ministry since 2002 in the same Church.
